The museum, established in 1984 in Ripon Gaol, houses documents, prints and artefacts depicting the history of Law and Order over 1100 years. The story of our police force is illustrated on the ground floor using exhibits from the Trust's fine collections of police memorabilia. Early punishments and conditions in Victorian Prisons are shown in the cells on the first floor.
